Jamie Has Walked This Path

I’m Jamie Wallace — a Professional Coach, NLP Practitioner and Timeline Coaching Practitioner, and published author based in Argyll, Scotland.

I didn’t arrive at coaching through a straight line. I got here the way most people get to the things that matter — through crossroads, wrong turns, long walks, and the occasional moment of standing at the edge of everything wondering what comes next.

I grew up in the Scottish countryside, the son of a family that valued hard work, honesty and showing up. I learned early that putting your hand up — for the difficult task, the unfamiliar experience, the thing nobody else wants to do — is almost always worth it.

I’ve worked in hospitality and cash management at sports stadia, racecourses and entertainment venues across northern Britain — from Rangers FC to The Royal Yacht Britannia — and in the public sector, and the third sector. I’ve lived in Germany and Singapore, spent time in France and Portugal, walked to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain three times, and opened my door in Glasgow to more than thirty strangers from across the world — an experience that became a book of bilingual Gaelic poetry.

After some award-winning success of setting up Glasgow’s Gaelic Meetup which aimed to bridge the gap between Gaelic learners and native speakers, I spent several years building something that didn’t exist before — a Gaelic learning community in Clydesdale, from nothing. I designed and produced a full language course from scratch, built an online learning platform, formed a committee who organised a public open day in Lanark that had never been attempted before in that community. That experience — of holding a vision others couldn’t yet see, and building the coalition to make it real — is woven through the way I coach.

I hold an MSc in Psychology from the Open University, an MA with Honours in Gaelic from the University of Glasgow, and qualifications in coaching, NLP, Timeline Therapy and counselling skills. I am currently completing a Level 5 Coaching Apprenticeship with BPP University to refresh my knowledge of the field and my skills.

In 2019, I walked away from my secure tenancy in Glasgow with nothing — no furniture, no possessions, no plan — and started again. That experience, and the 500-mile Camino Francés that followed, shaped everything about the way I coach.

I know what it feels like to be stuck. I know what it takes to move. And I know that the answers are almost always already within you — they just need the right conditions, and the right questions, to emerge.

I am rooted in Scotland. I am connected to the world. And I am genuinely glad you found your way here.
